January Video Card Price Guide - Page 4By SharkyExtreme.com Staff January 18, 2006Our definition of mainstream video cards encompasses the $100-$199 price range, and is really where you'll get the most bang for your buck. This is where you will find the latest mainstream video cards, like the Radeon X1600 Pro/XT, Radeon X800 GTO, and GeForce 6600GT & 6800XT, along with a few higher-end products that have been replaced at the top of the food chain (like the Radeon X800), and have then dropped in price. The mainstream video card list is usually where we see a few noticeable price drops mixed in with some high-end cards dropping below the $200 mark and entering the mainstream market. It's another tight race to hit these trends, but the NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 256MB AGP fell $40 to $184 and the Leadtek GeForce 6800 256MB dropped $25 to $179, which helped the cause tremendously. We also have the ATI All-in-Wonder 2006 Edition PCIe & AGP versions, and the ATI Radeon X1300 512MB PCIe and ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 256MB AGP boards, making their first appearance in our guide. The mainstream market is probably the most crowded with potential values, but we still feel that the GeForce 6600GT 128MB, GeForce 6800XT 128MB and ATI Radeon X800 GTO 256MB cards offer the best overall deals.
