June Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff June 27, 2006We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Each month we usually welcome a new entrant or two into the entry-level video card list, but after two months in a row of no movement, it is nice to see two new members for June. The NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB AGP dropped $14 to $91, while the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB received a $5 cut and fell to $99, accounting for the new card action in the entry-level chart. There was a lot of activity throughout the list, and the majority of card entries received some form of pricing activity. July should also be a very interesting month, as mainstream card prices have really been driven down at the $100-$120 range, and we are looking forward to seeing GeForce 6600GT, Radeon X700 Pro, and Radeon X1600 Pro cards dropping below the $100 mark.
