AMD and NVIDIA Video Cards: Price Changes

The following chart takes all of the tracked AMD and NVIDIA cards, and incorporates it into one monster price list, that is then sorted by the monthly price change. This gives us a slightly different view than in previous AMD and NVIDIA lists, as it identifies the month's biggest movers and shakers, and can really help identify the areas to take advantage of. When used with the other price charts, this list can add another dimension to the monthly video card prices, but keep in mind that the largest cuts may not translate into the best overall deal.

The overall price change list confirms our findings in the individual video card charts and commentary, and we again see a few of the highlighted models featured prominently in the "movers and shakers" area. In terms of the largest individual price cuts, AMD holds the definite advantage, and has the top four price drops for April. AMD also holds down seven out of the eleven double-digit price cuts, while most of NVIDIA's four placements are at the lower-end of the scale. There is also a nice selection of markets present in the price drops, from the entry-level Radeon X1600 XT 256MB to the high-end Radeon X1900 XTX 512MB. Unfortunately, AMD also contributed the three largest price increases, and NVIDIA follows the trend by placing at the bottom-end of this scale as well.
