AMD and NVIDIA Video Cards: Price Changes

The following chart takes all of the tracked AMD and NVIDIA cards, and incorporates it into one monster price list, that is then sorted by the monthly price change. This gives us a slightly different view than in previous AMD and NVIDIA lists, as it identifies the month's biggest movers and shakers, and can really help identify the areas to take advantage of. When used with the other price charts, this list can add another dimension to the monthly video card prices, but keep in mind that the largest cuts may not translate into the best overall deal.

The overall price change list confirms our findings in the individual video card charts and commentary, and we again see a few of the highlighted models featured prominently in the "movers and shakers" area. In terms of the largest individual price cuts, NVIDIA and ATI/AMD evenly split the top ten price drops, although ATI obviously holds the dollar advantage. The high-end video cards also hold a decided edge, and represent seven of the top ten entries. Unfortunately for NVIDIA, it also has a firm hold in terms of price increases, and GeForce-based cards accounts for four of the five largest individual price jumps.
