August 2007 Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff August 29, 2007We designate the entry-level graphics market as any video card that has a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins or scouring Ebay for refurbs. The sheer number of entry-level graphics cards continues to grow, and it is by far the largest market segment. This month, two new members dropped below the $100 barrier and we welcomed in the Radeon X1600 Pro 256MB AGP and GeForce 8500 GT 512MB cards to the club. There was also a brand new sub-$100 card, as the Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB made it chart debut in August. It's not quite as wild as in July, but this is still a great time to be shopping for an entry-level card, and many GeForce 8 Series and Radeon HD 2000 models are available in this price range.
