May Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff May 30, 2008We designate the entry-level graphics market as any video card that has a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins or scouring Ebay for refurbs. The sheer depth of the entry-level video card chart is incredible, and it only grows with each passing month. Two mainstream cards (Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB GDDR4 and Radeon HD 3650 1GB GDDR2) dropped below the $100 mark in May, while two others (the Radeon X1550 256MB and 512MB cards) made their chart debut. We all know that the average price of a video card has been dropping, but this kind of size discrepancy makes the trend quite apparent. The Radeon HD 3650 512MB/1GB and GeForce 8600 GT 512MB cards are both great value options, while you might also want to keep an eye out for previous-generation models like the Radeon X800 Pro 256MB and GeForce 6800XT 256MB.
