We designate the entry-level graphics market as any video card that has a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins or scouring Ebay for refurbs.
The number of entry-level video cards grew again in January, as we added some new members from the mainstream club. The cards that fell below the $100 barrier included the Radeon X800 GTO 256MB, Radeon HD 3850 1GB, GeForce 7900 GS 256MB, Radeon HD 4830 512MB, and Radeon HD 3850 256MB video cards, making the entry-level market even more value-packed. There are a ton of potential deals at the sub-$100 price range, and while the GeForce 9600 GSO 512MB/768MB and Radeon HD 4650 512MB cards are nice, both the ATI Radeon HD 4670 512MB/1GB and Radeon HD 4830 512MB cards are the real leaders.
