Quake 3 Arena

Quake 3: Arena has been used for the past few years for video benchmarks, as it scales very well with high to low-end graphics equipment. To further illustrate improvements achieved through the overclocking of our graphics card we ran the tried-and-true Quake 3 demo001 timedemo at various resolutions and compared the highest overclocked value to the value achieved at stock speed.

When overclocked both cards showed considerable improvement in speed, but the most notable improvement was found with the MX440, especially at higher resolutions. At 1280x1024 the MX440 gained 20.1% (19.1 fps), and at 1600x1200 it gained an impressive 23.9% (16 fps). The notable performance increase at higher resolutions is most likely attributed to the fact that memory bandwidth was increased considerably in our overclocking of the MX440.

3DMark2001 SE

For this test, we're breaking down the 3DMark 2001SE results into the individual tests, to help give a more detailed view of the GeForce4 Ti 4600 and MX 440 overclocked performance increases.

The low detail version of the Game 1 - Car Chase shows that there is not much of an improvement with the overclocked GeForce4 Ti 4400, but we do so a substantial increase in FPS with the GeForce4 MX 440.

With the Dragothic test running at low detail, we see improvements with both the overclocked GeForce4 Ti 4400 as well as the MX 440. The overclocked Ti4400 gains about 16 fps and the MX440 gains about 10 fps.
