We selected our fastest test machine for use with the Rage Fury MAXX benchmarking and decided to pit ATi's latest card against both a Diamond Viper V770 Ultra card as well as a new Creative Labs 3D Annihilator GeForce256 card.
Here are the details:
P3-800 i820 Test System:
Intel Pentium III 733 CPU (Set to operate at 800MHz)
Intel Vancouver VC820 Mainboard
Diamond Viper V770 32MB AGP Video Card (Set to operate at 150/183MHz)
ATi Rage Fury MAXX 64MB AGP Video Card (Set to operate at 125/143MHz)
Creative 3D Annihilator GeForce256 SDR AGP Video Card (Set to operate at 120/166MHz)
128MB PC800 RDRAM
Western Digital Expert 18.1GB UDMA HD
Sound Blaster Live PCI Audio Card
Toshiba 6X DVD-ROM
Test Conditions and Specifications:
All tests were run a total of four times. The highest and lowest scores recorded
were then eliminated with the remaining two results then averaged to determine the final score.
Vsync was disabled for all tests, allowing maximum frame rate performance.
Quake3Test was set to "Default" for Game Options, and to "High-Quality" for Graphics Options.
Sound Quality of all benchmarks was set to "low", and 3D Audio support was disabled.
If supported, SSE was enabled within applicable tests.
