In between May's annual E3 convention, and November's Comdex assault, there lies a variety of smaller, although no less important, PC conventions and forums that take place each year.
From the "mini-E3" Game Developer's Conference, to Great Britain's ECTS extravaganza, a host of shows vie for Sharky Extreme's editorial attention.
One of the many shows we try to cover each year is the showcase Intel puts on for their hardware and software developers each year in sunny Palm Springs California.
The show, or "Intel Developer Forum" as it's more formally referred to, allows Intel to map out and explain their current research and development projects to the media, as well as hype anything they're planning to release over the course of the following 12 months. It also lets developers provide feedback to Intel based on their own concerns and needs.
After arriving home from this year's conference, we immediately put pen to paper and summarized what we learned from the massive amounts of press releases, white papers, etc. Join us as we recount the highlights of the '99 IDF show, and provide a peek at the technology that was on display there.
