  • If you're not happy using a pencil etc… and joining bridges then you can always just make do by upping the Bus Speed and using the 12x Multiplier:

Quake III NORMAL 640x480 sound off: 167.2
    3D Winbench 2000 Processor Test: 1.97
    3DMark 2000 CPU Test: 405

Quake III NORMAL 640x480 sound off: 166.9
    3D Winbench 2000 Processor Test: 2.17
    3DMark 2000 CPU Test: 406

Quake III NORMAL 640x480 sound off: 168.9
    3D Winbench 2000 Processor Test: 2.21
    3DMark 2000 CPU Test: 408

Quake III NORMAL 640x480 sound off: 171.6
    3D Winbench 2000 Processor Test: 2.25
    3DMark 2000 CPU Test: 424

Ran tests but was unstable so we figured that was that regarding FSB only. No surprise there really.

We took the clock multiplier from 12x to 12.5x. When doing this, we also upped the Athlon's voltage to 1.80volts to give it some oomph. Here we go…

Quake III NORMAL 640x480 sound off: 167.7
    3D Winbench 2000 Processor Test: 2.22
    3DMark 2000 CPU Test: 410

Thought I'd go one better and up the voltage to 1.85volts to avoid that nasty Windows Protection error but to no avail. The 1.2GHz said that it had had enough and called it a day.
