Not every Taiwanese company produces motherboards and video cards. Away from the glamour of 3D cards and new chipsets, hundreds of Taiwanese companies manufacture peripherals that many of us use every day.
One such company is ATEN, an innovative Taiwanese manufacturer of KVM switches, USB hubs, FireWire devices, serial switches, serial adapters and a variety of other products that make our lives easier. We spoke with ATEN because they have a unique perspective on FireWire, USB, and USB 2.0, a viewpoint from the outside of the case, different from those of motherboard and chipset makers.
