  • According to information provided by PC Data, ATI's All-In-Wonder line comprises 10% of all video cards sold. Given that piece of information, it isn't hard to see how ATI would want to enable All-In-Wonder capabilities for the mobile market.

With the recently released TV Wonder USB, ATI can now steer their mobile products towards an all-inclusive solution. The combination of the Mobility RADEON and TV Wonder USB working in conjunction with ATI's Multimedia Center 7.0 offers the same features as the more powerful desktop card, in addition to an Internet Explorer plug-in that facilitates watching TV and surfing the Internet in the same window.

Given the current state of the graphics market, ATI is reported to drive 57% of all mobile devices. We know they are capable of delivering fast processors with optimized power consumption, but what does the future hold for the graphics giant? With NVIDIA encroaching on their Mac market share and poised to enter the mobile market, do they stand a chance?

Most certainly. The Mobility RADEON is a very flexible processor that will prove to be ideal in ultra-portable devices, such as Sony's Picturebook. On the other end of the spectrum, Mobility outfitted with a large frame-buffer of DDR memory will be capable of delivering impressive 3D performance. Depending on where the OEM is targeting their mobile device, the Mobility can be outfitted accordingly to keep costs down while maximizing performance. Although we haven't yet been given the opportunity to officially benchmark the Mobility, we'll assure you that high-resolution gaming on the mobile market is more tangible than ever before.

Currently, OEM's are evaluating the Mobility RADEON for future products. Once those products are announced, we'll be revisiting the Mobility RADEON to delve further into performance numbers.
