Sharky Extreme :

The V7700 Deluxe includes a full version of Soldier of Fortune, perhaps the goriest game to pass through the labs (and into our computers at home). This is good if you are mature, seeking harmless entertainment (with a strong stomach). It's bad, on the other hand, if you are concerned about a youngster in the house getting a hold of the game. If the latter it your situation, ignore the bundle, and hide the game.

Also included is DVD software to take advantage of the GeForce2's motion compensation engine. Unfortunately, it only offers "2 channels of Dolby Digital audio," which is not much to work with for those who use multi-speaker configurations. The infamous SmartDoctor utility is also included to keep tabs on the health of the V7700 Deluxe (especially when you're overclocking it).

ASUS has a habit of producing the most versatile cards on the market, and the V7700 follows suit. If you don't need the excess connectivity, then you will probably not want to pay the extra money for it. For nearly $100 less, the 32MB card still looks more economical, and the quality of the Video-In/Out does not rival ATI's sharpness. Keep in mind ASUS has yet to release Pro or Ultra versions, so before you pillage your pocketbook, keep an eye out for our review of those cards, which might offer more performance for the price.

Although the ASUS card offers an impressive list of features, the price is a little too high for what you get. While it offers more than the Hercules 64MB GeForce2 card, it still doesn't match the Ultra cards for speed or the ATI card for versatility.
