Probably the most sought after of the Japanese release titles, Ridge Racer V is an arcade racing game. That is to say, it is not all that realistic, but it is a blast to play. The game opens with a rock and roll racing sequence interspersed with quick shots of the polygon rich Namco girl. Lara Croft ain't got nothing on Ms. Namco.
The in-game graphics are stunning, with reflections shining off richly detailed cars, sparks flying from bottomed out vehicles and massive tracks filled with buildings and other structures. To make things even better, the music fits in perfectly with high-speed racing, with fast beats and vocals. Ridge Racer V is the best looking driving game we have ever seen on a home system or computer, even surpassing PC efforts like Midtown Madness and Need For Speed: High Stakes.
Street Fighter EX 3 is the third episode of the 3D Street Fighter EX series. Game play is actually quite similar to the Street Fighter 2 series. The graphics of SFEX3 are detailed and nice. However, it doesn't seem like they use the PS2 to its fullest. Frankly, SoulCalibur on the Dreamcast looks better overall, even if the graphics and background aren't quite as detailed.
