When Diamond Multimedia asks if they can pay your office a visit with a next-generation video accelerator in tow, who's crazy enough to not roll out the red carpet and leave the doors wide open?
As if that wasn't enough, what if they promised to literally sweeten the deal by bringing some delicious home made cupcakes along for the Mossad's sweet tooth? (Settle down Binky, settle down)…
That's the premise behind today's hands-on Diamond Stealth Savage4 preview, which Diamond and S3 have been working on together for the past few months towards an April 99 introduction. Targeted to fit in the price/performance category of Diamond's "Stealth" series of video accelerators, the Stealth Savage4 will be the first product that bears the series name since the i740-based Stealth G460 AGP card from last year.
With our recent announcements concerning Wicked3D's TNT/TNT2 SLI products, as well as the Voodoo3 3500 preview we recently completed, it's only fitting that S3's newest baby grace the Sharky Extreme test lab for an early analysis this week.
Let's take a look at the Savage4 Pro chip as it will appear in the Diamond Stealth product…..
