Manufacturer:
Hercules

Tech:
AGP based i740 board with 8Mb SDRAM

Bundle:
Just Drivers

Price:
$99 w/ 8Mb

Jumping on the i740 bandwagon (38 different Intel740s at my last count) Hercules is now offering their Terminator 2x/i board with a full 8Mb load out for just $99 - let's see what it has to offer.

Out of the flashy box comes a neatly built AGP board with the Intel740 chip covered by a heat sink and 8Mb of 100Mhz cheaper SDRAM, which is really the only sensible solution for a board of this type. Some other board manufacturers (and I won't name them) have for some strange reason used the more expensive 8MB SGRAM solution, which is utterly pointless since it doesn't do block writing anyway. SO don't be deterred by the slightly cheaper 8MB SDRAM- at least it works and does what it's meant to.
