  • AMD_Forever asks: How long will it be until Nvidia is able to correct hardware incompatibilities with non-Intel chipsets, VIA in particular? AMD platforms are becoming more mainstream and if Nvidia graphics chips aren't running correctly on every PC worldwide, that's a bad thing, isn't it?

NVIDIA: We certainly recognize the value of all of our partners, including AMD. The issues with some motherboards can be traced back to the use of components that do not quite meet spec. NVIDIA designs all of our products to meet spec – we are working to resolve this issues with some motherboard manufacturers.

Sol asks: How will the XBox graphics chip be different from the pc graphics chip?

NVIDIA: The GPU in the Xbox is based upon our next generation GPU – but it will be very different in design and Capabilities.

Humus asks: With 3dfx leaving the arena and Matrox now focusing primarily on business cards, ATI seems to be the only serious competitor left. How do you see the competitive situation between your two companies in the next 1-2 yrs?

NVIDIA: Right now it's a two horse race, although NVIDIA is always mindful of the competition. But the competition comes in all forms – Intel, with their integrated graphics and 40 % market share with their Integrated solution, can be considered a competitor as is Sony with the Playstation2 and their graphics capabilities. All of these can be considered a threat.

JabberJaw asks: What is your opinion of the recent agreement between Intel and ATI to share technology for low-cost integrated graphics chip sets, and how much is that market of interest to NVIDIA?

NVIDIA: We're always aware of our competition and you can rest assured that NVIDIA will rise to meet any challenge issued by any of our competitors.
