Sharky Extreme :

So it really comes down to price and a level of risk taking. Are you an early technology adopter? Do you like owning something that is full of promise in terms of the future? Or are you happy with a $200 Geforce2GTS that dishes out smoking Quake III performance and top notch D3D scores? We can't make the choice for you ("I can only show you the door, Neo...you're the one that has to walk through it.") and we're just here to represent the facts. We can't tell you how it's going to be (ATI will have something for Q3)...

Take the blue pill and wake up playing Quake III Arena at 157fps and forget you ever heard of Programmable Pixel/Vertex Shaders & T&L. You'll hear all about it at Christmas time. Or take the red pill and see just how far that rabbit hole goes with QUINCUNX FSAA, DX8 and a programmable T&L unit...

So, we're off to GDC to take a look at what the gaming industry has to offer in terms of DX8 titles.

Hope you enjoyed this rather hectic week folks, 1.33GHz Athlon , 1GHz Mobile Pentium III and now the GeForce3? Is the industry really on a downturn? Nah...

  • Aquanox Looks Amazing!
  • Great for game artists. Get a new lease of life!
  • Plays DX8 games like no other.

  • For $500 just think of what you could get instead? An Armani suit on sale!
  • DX8 games are pretty thin in the air right now. About as thin as Princess Di of old.
  • NV25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 will all come out every six months. But we'll still only have DX12abcd.
