Logitech's focus is the design, manufacturing and marketing of human interface devices, making them experts on simplicity and ease-of-use. The DSR-100's were no exception, packed in a deceivingly small box and laid out very intuitively.
Installation was simple, thanks to color-coded plugs and very complete packaging. In fact, we were able to put the system together in under five minutes without once cracking open the instruction manual. For those who may require a little more assistance, a user guide is provided in 14 different languages outlining safety information, placement, connections, operation, and installation of the PowerDVD software.
Since these speakers are being targeted towards computer usage, and not entry-level home theater enthusiasts, we found the length of the speaker wire to be ideal. At 150," the 22-gauge rear-channel cables were long enough to be easily placed behind a computer desk. For systems that will be placed near walls, the Xtrusio also includes two wall-mount brackets to keep the rear-satellites out of the way.
Because the system includes an internal switching power supply, the DSR-100 can be operated universally, and enjoys the convenience not afforded by units with external power supplies.
