  • At long last, Intel has released a platform with official PC133 support and an AGP slot. As the first viable alternative for the gaming enthusiast who doesn’t want to deal with buying RDRAM, Intel’s i815e is lined up to finally replace the reliable 440BX. Many OEMs have seen the potential success that the i815e offers, and have already begun production of their own variations. The first to make its way into our labs is the ASUS CUSL2. As we prepare to test the latest contender, our goal will be to determine if the i815e represents the loss of even more time, or the diffusion of the “ticking bomb” Intel has been dealing with for over a year.
