In reviewing the big players in the motherboard market, names like Asus, Abit and AOpen seem to just roll off the tongue. Although Micro-Star is a well-known company within the overclocking community, they have yet to ascend to the same level of name recognition with the general public. Their product line stacks up well against anyone, from the flagship MS-6163 BX to the current K7Pro Athlon board. In between you'll find the Socket 370 MS-6153, MS-6167 Athlon, and MS-6163VA VIA Apollo Pro 133 motherboards. Micro-Star has shown they can be at the forefront of motherboard technology and still produce some of the best products you can buy. In addition, they have expanded their products to include the Phantom video card line, featuring, among others, TNT2 Ultra and GeForce cards.

With the amount of new motherboard chipsets appearing on the market, it's unusual that we're still seeing Intel BX motherboards being produced. After all, the new Intel 810, 810E, 820 and the VIA Apollo Pro 133/133A are all newer chipsets with enhanced feature sets, but the Intel BX still remains a top seller. The reason for this incredible longevity is pure performance, and many comparison reviews have placed the BX right at the top of the chipset class.
