Why buy a Lexus LX450 when you can have a Toyota Land Cruiser for less money? Often times, the extra luxury and features are worth the premium price, and at $339 USD, the V6800 Deluxe isn't for the feint of heart. We'll even go so far as to say that this card is hardcore; it's meant for the power user who can edit video, tweak hardware, and appreciate the fastest 3D gaming available on the market.

In a day where software bundles are considered to be a frivolous expense, ASUS has gone against the norm and included a number of applications to take advantage of the extra hardware features.

For the purpose of keeping the V6800 completely stable, ASUS has bundled their SmartDoctor utility. Set by default to run on start up and terminate, the application monitors AGP bus voltage, graphics chip temperature, and fan rotation speed (it's only missing an egg timer). If SmartDoctor detects that the V6800 is operating in an abnormal state, it has the ability to perform one of several tasks. It can cool your CPU, forcibly cool the GPU by clocking it lower than its current setting, dynamically cool your GPU, or any combination of the above.

Using dynamic overclocking, SmartDoctor will decrease the frequency of the V6800 while the card is idle, returning it to full speed when in use by a graphically intensive application. The combination of the three options SmartDoctor offers, in theory, will prolong the life of both your video card and your CPU.
