Scaling: 3DMark 99 Scaling: Forsaken

Although not as nippy under 32-bit as the Matrox G400MAX, it doesn't cost as much and still does the job exceptionally well. Overclocking the board gave out even more impressive results that rivaled the G400MAX in 32-bit in Forsaken (hence the Viper V770 scores were higher). The same could be said for Futuremark's 3D Mark Max 99. The Voodoo3 was still faster (by a bit) under 16-bit but of course does NOT support 32-bit.

With a FULL ICD, Quake 2 was as fast as ever and the Masssive1.dm2 scores show off how well the card performs in 'real world' situations.

Test System:
We brought out the 'ol Sharky Extreme powerhouse PC for the following benchmarks:
CPU: Intel Pentium III 500MHz
ABIT BH6 BX Motherboard
128MB PC 100 RAM
8.4Gig Quantum Fireball HD
Creative DXr2 DVD Drive
Diamond MX300 Monster Sound
3Com Network Card

The current crop of 2D/3D accelerators are all pretty much neck and neck in terms of their 2D performance, with the Matrox G400MAX being top of the pile (with its blazing 360MHz RAMDAC). The TNT2 isn't quite the crème de la crème, but it's certainly in the same ballpark with its 300MHz RAMDAC. With scores hitting close to 200 in the ZD Business Graphics 99 test and 500 scores recorded in the ZD High-End Graphics 99 test, the AGP-V3800 Deluxe will more than suffice any power-hungry Windows 98 user. Perhaps the only drawback is the lack of 24-bit color depth support.
