The ChainTech Desperado AGP-RI90's board layout is pretty standard for a GeForce2 GTS. The PCB size (app. 6.5” x 4.25”) is exactly the same as other reference design GeForce2 GTS and GeForce 256 DDR/SDR boards. The GeForce2 GTS chip is cooled through an adequate heatsink/cooling fan combo, which is also powered through the card itself. Our review card also came equipped with 32 MB of 6 ns Infineon DDR memory.
The ChainTech Desperado AGP-RI90 comes clocked at 200 core and 333 DDR memory speeds, which is right in line with NVIDIA reference specs. The 333 MHz DDR speed (166 MHz x 2) is also right at the rated spec of the 6 ns Infineon memory. Overall, the ChainTech Desperado AGP-RI90 is a very standard GeForce2 GTS board, and seems to eschew functionality and value over flashy extras or tweaks.
ChainTech also offers an optional TV-out package for NTSC / PAL output through RCA TV-output and S-Video output jacks. Our review card did not include this option and came standard with only the basic VGA-out port on the back of the card.
With the ChainTech Desperado AGP-RI90 being more of an OEM solution than a pure retail product, there are really only the very basics packaged in the box. This includes a small manual, a driver CD and the Desperado AGP-RI90 card itself. Since ChainTech seems to be positioning this board as more of an OEM or system integration solution, there is really no need for an extensive software bundle or flashy packaging.
