Just like the centerfold in each month's Playboy magazine (we read it for the interviews) most Sharky Extreme readers reach first for the benchmark section of our reviews before they dabble in such nuances as our comments about the product being reviewed…

Here now for your viewing pleasure are the results we recorded with the Stealth III S540 on a P3-500 CPU.

Test Systems (2):

ABIT BX6 R2.0 (Slot-1 - Intel 440BX) Goldstar 128MB PC-133 SDRAM 3dfx Voodoo3-2000 16MB AGP Adaptec 2490UW Ultra-Wide SCSI Controller IBM Ultrastar 9 8.4GB UWSCSI HD Diamond Monster Sound MX300 3D PCI Sound Card Plextor SCSI 32X CD-ROM Win98 OSR 1.0

Test Conditions and Specifications: All tests were run a total of five times with the results averaged to determine final score (the highest and lowest scores obtained were disqualified.)

VSync was OFF for all video tests, allowing maximum frame rate performance.

All Voodoo3 cards are incapable of testing at a 32bpp color depth, hence the "0" scores reported in the 32bpp charts for the V3-2000

**Incoming Notes: Rage software along with Sharky Extreme's Hardware Staff would like to remind readers that Incoming has been proven to possibly provide erratic results when tested with certain video cards and drivers. We present our own Incoming results along with a host of other performance benchmarks in the hopes that we can present the most well rounded look at a product's performance level.
