Although not as nippy as an UltraTNT2, the ERAZOR III doesn't cost as much and still does the job exceptionally well. It also performed almost identically to the LeadTek TNT2 32MB. The only reason it was a notch slower was due to the lower clock speed. The Voodoo3 3000 is still faster (by a bit) under 16-bit but of course does not support 32-bit.
Test System:
We brought out the 'ol Sharky Extreme powerhouse PC for the following benchmarks:

Being somewhat smaller than the likes of Creative and Diamond means that margins have to be found and conjured out of anywhere. Luckily for ELSA, they claim to have an advantage when it comes to software (wait… hear them out):
The ELSA Software Advantage is a result of our devotion to driver optimization, application compatibility and easy-to-use utilities. With a solid background of developing high-end computer graphics products for the CAD and visualization market, and a third of our workforce devoted to product development, we are committed to offering a higher level of graphics capability. We want to provide you with an integrated solution for your graphic requirements.
If you're the sort that likes to stick with your own card's drivers, then ELSA's are just as solid, easy to use and functional as Diamond's. The WINman graphics utility suite provides you with the tools to custom configure your system's graphics to the settings optimal for your needs. You can set refresh rates/resolutions or dabble with the ELSA-3D-Settings and adjust anti-aliasing and/or gamma correction.
One point worthy of mention- towards the end of this review, NVIDIA released new reference drivers that actually increases Quake 2 performance. So if you live and die with Quake 2, then at least try dabbling with NVIDIA's reference set of drivers.
