  • If you would like to know more about the GeForce2 GTS technology, please read our GeForce2 GTS Guide, where we cover the technology in tremendous depth. You can also check out our GeForce2 Ultra Guide, an in-depth look at the GeForce2 Ultra.

One strength of NVIDIA-based cards is their unified driver structure. Every NVIDIA-based card since the TNT2 can use the same driver set. This allows a corporation to run the same driver across all of their NVIDIA-using computers, simplifying tech support and internal testing.

2D quality of the GeForce 2 GTS line is very good, and the recent driver release has improved things like dual monitor support. We've been assured from NVIDIA that the new drivers, while improving performance on TNT and TNT2 and adding stability, there is no change in overall performance for GeForce and GeForce2 GTS.

“With the new 6.31 driver, TNT/TNT2 owners will see a performance increase and here are stability fixes and performance tweaks. NVIDIA has also delivered full support for all TwinView Functionality, the new NVIDIA Desktop Manager, and improved interfaces for Digital Vibrance Control and AA. Performance numbers in D3D and OpenGL games with GeForce2 GTS are at the same outstanding level users saw with the 6.18 drivers.”
    - Derek Perez, Director of Public Relations, NVIDIA

3D quality is standard GeForce2 GTS quality, which is just about as good as it gets.
