We're sure a GeForce2 Ultra won't be too fast for you, but it could easily be too expensive. Guillemot knows this and has an answer for those who can't afford or don't want to spend the money on a GeForce2 Ultra and aren't quite satisfied with GeForce2 GTS performance at 1280x1024 and above. Their answer bears the name Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS Pro. Guillemot took the 3D Prophet II GTS 32MB and replaced the 32MB of 166MHz DDR SGRAM with 64MB of 200MHz DDR SDRAM. This should help alleviate the biggest roadblock to higher frame rates for the GeForce2 GTS, not enough memory bandwidth.

Is the 3D Prophet II GTS Pro faster than a GeForce2 GTS? Does it approach Ultra speed? Is it a good value at $399? Does it have the longest name of any graphics card we have ever heard of? Will Captain Dangerous save the beautiful monster in distress from the despicable Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman? Read on to find out.
