  • Faster Celerons are on their way. They will hit 700MHz in Q4 2000 and 733+MHz in Q1 2001. SSE will be included with new Celerons, starting with the 600MHz model in Q2 2000.

    1.3GHz and 1.4GHz Willamette CPUs will hit the market in Q4 2000. A 1.5GHz or faster Willamette will come in Q1 2001. Willamette will be matched to the upcoming Tehama chipset.

    Timna will be coming in at the very low-end in Q3 2000. Timna is a low-end Celeron-style CPU with integrated graphics and master controller (a.k.a. northbridge).

    You will kick up your heels with joy when Riverdance arrives, but you can forget about the Styx.

    The following is a detailed breakdown of the systems Intel is planning for each segment of their consumer and business desktop market. All system prices are without a monitor.
