With the launch and success of the very capable SY-6BA+ 440BX mainboard, Taiwanese manufacturer Soyotek is enjoying more of the popular limelight than they might otherwise be used to. Journalists and consumers alike have placed the SY-6BA+ up with the Abit BX6 2.0 and the AOpen AX6BC+ R2 as one of the three most popular CPU overclocking boards available.

That's quite a change from the days where the average consumer might never have heard of Soyotek, or the products they manufacture. Now, Soyo is working to capitalize on their newly found status by keeping their product roadmap chock full of new designs and interesting formats.

Today we're taking a look at Soyotek's first product that utilizes the Apollo Pro core logic AGPset from VIA. Designed to compete head to head with Intel's 440BX chipset, the Apollo Pro offers virtually the same features as the Intel product, but at a somewhat lower price.

Let's take a look now at the board in question, the Soyo SY-V6BE+
