450Mhz Pentium II results:

The results are surprising but not as much so after you realize that we used the newest Beta Velocity V4400 drivers for the testing, while the Spectra 2500 used drivers roughly two weeks older. The difference is about 10%, meaning that the V4400 is approximately 10% faster than the Spectra 2500 under most conditions at the same memory and core speeds. Again we believe it's due to the driver differences, as all TNT cards should wind up being relatively close in performance to each other (+/- 3%).

Otherwise, the V4400 did very well, as the Spectra 2500 we tested did before it. Both card's scores are 10 to 20% faster than a standard 95MHz Voodoo2 12MB card, and the 2D scores speak for themselves. It's not often that Matrox (the traditional 2D kings of speed) finds themselves playing second fiddle, but in this case it's no competition. The TNT simply blows away all comers in the 2D arena.
