Leadtek WinFast A250 Ultra TD GF4 Ti 4600 Review
    By Joel Hruska :  May 29, 2002

Quake 3, High Quality, 800x600 Performance

Right off the bat, we see that the mid-range to high-end video cards provide some very high framerates in low-resolution Quake 3 benchmarking. Even so, the relative performance levels remain solid, with the A250 Ultra TD outpacing the GeForce3 Ti 200 by a healthy 72 fps.

Quake 3, High Quality, 1280x1024 Performance

At 1280x1024, the A250 Ultra TD begins to seriously flex its' muscles, and pulls even farther ahead of the competition. While Quake 3 is highly memory bandwidth dependent, at this resolution and detail level the game has become video-card restricted as well and is simply a better test for high-end video cards.

    Return to Castle Wolfenstein Performance

Unlike Quake 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein appears to be less memory dependent and more CPU-focused. The scores between the various cards are more closely grouped and while the A250 Ultra TD is the top dog, the Radeon 8500 puts in an impressive showing, and comes within 10% of NVIDIA's fastest design.
