Not Just a Speed Demon: MSI GeForce3 TI 500 Pro-VTG Review

By Joel Hruska :  January 23, 2002

Introduction

The video card market is getting very crowded. As NVIDIA has soared to success in the last two years the number of companies offering video cards based on GeForce designs has shot up considerably. This creates inevitable market confusion, however, as the consumer is unsure whether or not certain cards offer greater performance or feature sets over others. Some of the major video card manufacturers today include ASUS, ABIT, VisionTek, LeadTek, Powercolor, Creative, and, of course, MSI themselves. The question is, in such a crowded market, how has MSI chosen to differentiate themselves-and have they done so in such a way as to make their card a more attractive product? We'll be answering these questions as we examine MSI's GeForce 3 Ti 500 design aimed at the multimedia video market-the MSI GF3 Ti 500 Pro-VTG.
