Not Just a Speed Demon: MSI GeForce3 TI 500 Pro-VTG Review
    By Joel Hruska :  January 23, 2002

    3DMark 2000: 1024x768x32

    CardScore
    MSI Pro-VTG10430
    GeForce39688
    RADEON 85009980

While 3DMark is getting quite old it remains a useful benchmark for examining D3D performance under DirectX 7.0. Under this test we see the GF3 Ti 500 pulling ahead of both the R8500 and the legacy GF3 by a small margin.

    3DMark 2001: 1024x768x32

    CardScore
    MSI Pro-VTG7953
    GeForce36994
    RADEON 85008565

In 3DMark 2001 the situation reverses. While the GF3 Ti 500 pulls ahead of the original GeForce3 by almost a thousand points the R8500 moves into first place by nearly six hundred points. ATI has clearly done an excellent job with the Radeon 8500-its stability and speed have clearly improved since its initial lackluster release.
