No external audio receiver or other component is needed, just the DigiTheater and a DVD player, thanks to the 60 Watt powered subwoofer/amplifier that comes with the DigiTheater.

Decked out in charcoal and black tones, again reiterating the home audio focus of the DigiTheater, the kit's subwoofer/amplifier sends 7.5 RMS watts of audio to each of the five satellite speakers, and 25 RMS watts of audio to the subwoofer itself.

When paired with the DigiTheater's Dolby Digital decoder unit, any audio source that offers DD 5.1 compliant outs (via a coax S/PDIF port or an optical toslink S/PDIF port) can be connected to the DigiTheater kit and provide seamless digital surround sound.
